The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most iconic franchises in NFL history. The three-time Super Bowl champions have won four total championships all together, with their last coming back in 2009. With a recent run of success spanning nearly 10 years, it’s no wonder that there is much anticipation for the team to make its return to glory this year. But could they actually do it? Here’s what Sports Illustrated has to say about the 2019 season ahead…

On Wednesday, Pro Football Focus’ Sam Monson unveiled the names of the 2021 Midseason All-Pro Team, which includes three Pittsburgh Steelers players.
Cameron Heyward is one of them.
The veteran Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, 32, is one of two first-team All-Pros at his position, along with three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald (Los Angeles Rams). At the halfway point of the 2020 season, Heyward and Donald were both named to the PFF first-team All-Pro team.
“As he approaches his 30s, Heyward continues to play his finest football,” Monson observes. “All five of his greatest seasons, including this one, have occurred in the last five years, and his current 92.3 PFF rating would be a career high if sustained throughout the year.”
Indeed, in seven games, the former first-round choice (No. 31 overall in 2011 out of Ohio State) has put up an excellent stat line. He has 40 total tackles (23 solo), including five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, five quarterback hits, five passes defensed, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, according to Pro Football Reference.

T.J. Watt was named to the All-Pro second team, behind Myles Garrett.
Meanwhile, Cleveland edge rusher Myles Garrett, who has 10.5 sacks in eight games this season, has been voted second-team All-Pro.
“This season, Garrett is on a Defensive Player of the Year-type run,” Monson observes. “He’s already piled up 44 pressures, the second-most in the NFL, to go along with the greatest pass-rush win percentage and PFF pass-rushing rating on third downs. This year, he has single-handedly ruined many games for opposition teams and is invincible against even the best offensive tackles.”
Still, if Watt hadn’t missed a game-and-a-half with a groin ailment, he may have been selected first-team All-Pro and Garrett second-team (as was the case in November 2020). According to PFR, he has 27 total tackles (22 solo), 8.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hits, three passes defensed, three forced fumbles, and a pair of fumble recoveries.
Chris Boswell, too, is a kicker.
Last but not least, Steelers placekicker Chris Boswell was chosen to the second team, behind Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. Tucker has only missed one field goal all season and has a perfect 50-yard mark, including a 66-yarder that set an NFL record.
Boswell, for one, is 12 of 13 on field goal attempts this season (92.3 percent) and 12 of 12 on extra-point attempts.
North of the American Football Conference
First-team tight end Mark Andrews of the Ravens and first-team left guard Joel Bitonio of the Cleveland Browns, as well as second-team wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, are the other representatives from the AFC North. The Browns’ Wyatt Teller is the second-string right guard.
